3D design

A drawing has to be read. A render is understood. That is the whole difference when a decision is due.

Seeing it before building it

Between the layout drawing and the finished room there is an uncomfortable moment: the one where irreversible choices have to be signed off on a set of lines. A 3D model and a 3D render exist to remove that moment.

We model the space from the survey, then place the equipment, the surfaces, the lighting and the colours that have been chosen. You see the real volume, the clearances, what catches the eye from the entrance, what a member sees from their machine. You move a zone, change a floor, and settle the argument on the evidence.

This is not a communication image. It is a sign-off tool. What is approved in 3D goes into manufacturing as it stands, and whatever was in the way gets corrected on screen, where it only costs time. It is also what lets you put a project to a board, a landlord or a local authority without asking them to read a technical drawing.

Padel

Padel

3D visualisation of a padel court before construction: how it sits in the building, the run-offs, the lighting, the view from the seating or the clubhouse.

This is the moment you see that one more court does not fit, or that it fits at the price of a clearance nobody would accept once on site.

Fitness & Cross-training

Fitness & Cross-training

A 3D plan of the gym: the real density of the floor, the width of the circulation, what mirrors and lighting do to the perceived volume.

A dense floor looks profitable on a drawing and becomes unbearable in use: the render shows the real circulation, which an area figure does not.

Pilates

Pilates

The reformer studio rendered with its daylight - usually the point at which the real number of machines gets decided.

The render mostly serves to put a simple question to the operator: ten comfortable machines or twelve tight ones? That is settled better in front of an image than a figure.

Combat sports

Combat sports

Cage, ring and striking zones placed in the volume, so safety clearances and seating are checked before anything is ordered.

Safety clearances around a ring are immediately visible in volume, where a plan makes them look adequate when they are not.

Multi-sport spaces

Multi-sport spaces

The same hall rendered in two configurations, to settle markings and storage before they are fixed.

Two configurations rendered side by side avoid the meeting where everyone defends their own discipline without seeing what the others lose.

Play areas

Play areas

Renders at adult height and at child height: sight lines are easier to check in an image than on a plan.

Child height shows what an adult never sees: a corner with no sightline from the benches, a slide exit facing a path.

Frequently asked questions

Is the render faithful to the result?

On volumes, clearances and circulation, yes: those are dimensions, not impressions. On materials and light it conveys an intention, not a photograph.

That is deliberate. An over-flattering render creates disappointment on handover day, which serves nobody.

When in the project does it happen?

After the survey and the first plan, before orders are committed. It is the last moment at which a change of mind costs only a drawing.

Once structures and machines are ordered, the same change costs a delay.

Can we have several versions?

Yes, and that is often where the render earns its keep: two layouts side by side settle a discussion that would go round in circles on a plan.

We generally prepare two, rarely more: beyond that the choice dilutes and the decision recedes.

Send us a drawing, photographs or simply dimensions. We will tell you what a 3D model would bring to your project, and at which point in the programme it is worth the most.
